Yes, we are loving this hunny bunny. PUBLIC is a soon-to-launch urban bicycle and gear company, based in San Francisco’s SoMa district. They contacted us to let everyone know about a contest they have going on to win a bike – so why not give it a whirl!?? Entrants must answer the question, “In your own words, if we came to your hometown for a one-hour bike ride, where would you take us and what would we do?”

Yes it’s been several months since we had a fun Cycle Chic ride. The only good excuse was the heat. Pavement-melting, sweltering, Lowcountry heat. But it’s officially fall ya’ll and while those of you in Maine wouldn’t consider 80 degrees cool – for us, it is delightful.
So stay tuned for details about the next ride. All I can tell you now is that it will be after work on October 21st! So get your beautiful bikes polished up and ready to ride.
….it’s fun to think about now so I am going to ask! Charleston Cycle Chic is going to be submitting an application in the next few weeks for us to participate in Charleston’s King Street Holiday Parade on December 6th, 2009. We thought it would be oh-so-fun and festive to have Cycle Chic ride our beautiful bikes and ring ring ring our jingle bells to welcome the holiday season.
But. We need a theme. Something with elegance, class, fun, and movement….

Ladies, now I know that most of you aren’t camera shy, and furthermore, I know that there are zillions of you out there who love to ride pretty on your fabulous bikes. So take a moment to send in the chicest photo you have of yourself, enter the TopShop Chictopia contest and win a bike!

Well – you know how I feel about that. Bikes are the new handbags. It’s fun to have one for every mode and moda. The other option if you win, would be to donate your bike to someone in need of Cycle Chic transport. Wouldn’t you like to be responsible for introducing another person to the lovely biking lifestyle?
All you have to do is create a Chictopia profile and then upload your photo with your bike to the profile page and enter the contest before July 17. Around the town and back again, off to Fuel we went to enjoy a refreshing post-ride beverage. If anyone out there has more pics -send them in!

Getting around to this later than I would have liked but I am starting to gather all the great photos from Charleston Cycle Chic Ride #2. Thanks so much to everyone for showing up and supporting the biking lifestyle!! The best part about the ride was the meetup at Fuel afterward – it was so fun to talk to everyone in person. I feel like I met some greatness! Also, a shout out to the Holy City Bike Coop for being there in force. You guys are doing a wonderful thing.
