This Cycle Chic woman proves it is not so and she looks great too. Check out her Vintage Raleigh bike complete with a toddler seat on the back. She rides her daughter to school and back every day, around town, to the grocery store, and just for fun. And yes, she has a car too and a kickin’ full time job. So if there are other Moms out there – explore the options for biking with baby and don’t forget the helmet. It’s a whole new world!

One of Charleston local photographers (who happened to be on the last Cycle Chic ride) will be shooting people on bikes (any and all kinds!) this Wednesday 7/29 at his Studio. Here’s an excerpt from his blog.
“If you are a charleston resident this message is for you guys. I need your help this wednesday, if you own a unique, cool, hip, beat up, expensive, stolen, inexpensive bike I need you to stop by my studio at 253 A St Phillip street. I could really use everyone’s help on this. Tell all of your friends, come in a group or individually. Your image could possibly be used for a magazine story i’m doing about biking in charleston. If you are interested shoot me an email and let me know approximate times. I will be there all day and night. TELL ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS!! What do you say CCC ladies (and gents)? Are we going to live up to their vision of us? Our gorgeous fall is just around the corner and we can no longer use the excuse of ‘perspiration’. Let’s ride into the sunset, shall we??

And while I don’t personally want to open a retail shop (too many things on my plate already) I WISH I WISH I WISH someone would take this on in Charleston! Check out Fleetwood Kit Kat’s bike boutique in Dallas, and be sure to read their blog for all the neat things they do or see this video from their local news station. Kudos!

(Click the Flickr Photostream link) Thanks to Karen, Dustin, Kristy, and Traci for being shutterbugs! 35 men and women showed up dressed to the nines and showin’ off their rides. Around the town and back again, off to Fuel we went to enjoy a refreshing post-ride beverage. If anyone out there has more pics -send them in!
